SQL Hard Way/Easy Way

Recently I needed to select a years worth of form submission data and break it down by the hour of the day the forms were submitted. Since I never really write anything from scratch I went and found someones suggested code. It didn't work. The code actually duplicated some items into different hour buckets. Then I mentioned it to a friend and he had a code example that was significantly shorter and worked. THE EASY WAY!
