The greatest comeback in MLB history
It's official... The Boston Red Sox are now the team responsible for the two baseball memories I will cherish forever. First, the night in 1986 that they let the Mets perform one of the greatest come from behind victories in the history of the game, (Thanks Bill Buckner) and tonight.... oh tonight. How sweet. To come back from three games down and take four in a row from the Yankees.
And the humiliation those fans must have felt, for the cursed Sox to accomplish this in the house that Ruth built. Yankees hallowed ground. The cocky Yankee fans were convinced they were headed down the road to number 27. Instead they suffer the greatest choke of all time.
Who's your daddy now!
PS My deepest sympathy to my wife, who I know is really upset by this. Here's a line you can use that we Met fans are familiar with... "We'll get 'em next year"
