The end of a great season
A very disappointing end for the Mets Thursday night. It's Saturday afternoon and the pit in my stomach is just about beginning to fade. But hey, let's face it, when you go into the post season down two of your top three starting pitchers and you get to game 7 of the NLCS, you've done better than you could have hoped for. And we've learned a lot about the makeup of this team. John Maine and Oliver Perez stepped up and gave big time performances. I have no problem handing the ball to them again next year.
Changes for next year.... of course I don't think anyone expects to see Steve Trachsel here. I'd be surprised if Shawn Green is here and I'm afraid Cliff Floyd and Jose Valentine may be gone as well. Who's coming? My guesses, Alfonso Soriano, Barry Zito and maybe, just maybe, Manny Ramerez. And personally if they want to use Lastings Milledge as trade fodder, go ahead. I think he has an unbreakable attitude problem.
