Verizon FIOS

I'm signing up... Verizion Fiber Optic Service is available in my area and look at these speeds...
Cable pales in comparison. I'm getting 1.5 Mb down and a pathetic 128 Kbps up. The $49.99 plan will be like heaven. If my calculations are correct 5 Mbps is about .6 Megabytes per second, so roughly 1 MB every 2 seconds. So a 300 MB file would upload in 150 seconds or about 2.5 Minutes.

I'm sure I'll start to be limited by the bandwidth on the receiving end.

This is a great deal. I wish it would put Cablevision out of the bandwidth business, but the fact is Cablevision speeds are fine for most average internet users.
