The first book on card magic I ever owned was Scarne's Card Tricks. It is still one of my favorite books and whenever I go back and reread it, I never fail to find some new gem I missed. I found this video on Yahoo. An old Universal short with Scarne revealing the scams of gambling cheats. You can see why he's considered one of the greatest card manipulators of all time.
