Between then and now my adjusted gross income has increased 55%. Doesn't sound too bad. Until I look at my local school taxes. In the same period, they have increased 120%.
Does it really take more than double the amount of money to run the school district than it did 10 years ago?
It doesn't take twice the amount of money to run my household, because if it did I'd be in trouble.
Here's my simple rule for voting for a school budget. If the percentage increase is greater than the percentage increase I received for my annual salary review, then I vote NO.
