 Here's a simple application I created using Google spreadsheets.  Just tell me your zip code and add your name or a comment and we'll plot you on a map.

After you submit the form, you can view the map and see your location plotted. Not rocket science but it was all done with Google Spreadsheets and a simple gadget. No coding.... the form and the map all created with a few clicks.

My PEN Drive

I had a pretty complete suite of Pen Drive applications as well as some small utilities and scripts I wrote myself. Last week I finally took the plunge and installed the Portable Apps suite and I have to say I love it. I finally ported over all of my apps that were not Portable App compatible. Everything you need to function can be carried in less than 3GB.

Podcast solutions

I've tried many different programs for my podcast catching. Since I use a small USB MP3 player I've found My Podder from Podcast Ready to be quite good. The software gets installed on the USB drive so you always have it with you. The web site also allows you to subscribe to podcasts on line. This is where I think they fail. The interface was very slow and I found it unreliable.

So I just started subscribing via direct RSS feeds.

Then I started playing with ODEO and boy did they get it right. Very easy to search, find and subscribe to Podcasts. The latest podcast from every subscription gets placed in your inbox. You can also drop any other items you find into your inbox without having to subscribe. Now you have one RSS address for your inbox and can go into your pod catching software and subscribe just to one feed which contains all the latest episodes of all your subscribed pod casts.

When you're ready to create your own podcast head over to ODEO Studio. All the tools you need to record, upload and syndicate a podcast. It's that easy. You can view my podcast page, or subscribe to it at http://odeo.com/channel/115193/rss . Look in the right hand margin for the podcast player. If you don't want to go through all the trouble of subscribing, you can just come here and use the built in player to listen.
